Toy Story Land Is Open! And More Changes Are Coming!

June 30, 2018

What used to be called a “half-day Park” is fighting to be a new fan favorite…and just may succeed. Big changes are going on at Disney Hollywood Studios right now! And I, for one, can not wait to check them all out.

Here’s the Scoop on all the exciting changes

Toy Story Land

The wait is over and Toy Story Land is officially open to the public! I’ve written plenty on Toy Story Land, so I’ll just let the videos speak for themselves.

The theming is AMAZING! Although I haven’t seen Toy Story Land for myself, I can only imagine that it’s even more amazing in person! (I will most certainly verify this in a few months when I make it back “Home”.)

Just look at those Wait Times! If you weren’t able to nab one of those coveted Fastpasses, this is what you have to look to look forward to for a long awhile. In case you’re wondering where the end of the line is…think the Chinese Theater! Now that’s a LONG line!

Hollywood Studios has also had a shift in Tiers, so make sure you check out the change before you start making plans for your Fastpasses!

Galaxy’s Edge is currently under construction with a projected Opening Date sometime in the late fall of 2019.

Again, I’ve written about Galaxy’s Edge a number of times on Disney Solution, so why don’t you check out the information I’ve written about it thus far!

Mickey’s Runaway Railway

Disney has finally released some concept art for Mickey’s Runaway Railway! Formerly the Great Movie Ride, Mickey’s Runaway Railway will be coming to the Chinese Theater sometime in 2019. I haven’t heard of much construction going on yet, but with Toy Story Land finally open, hopefully this means construction will start picking up.

Partnering with Disney’s Television Animation, teams in charge of creating the attraction are hoping to keep the characters and story line authentic to the new Mickey cartoon shorts.

The official description for the new attraction is described below:

“The fun begins when Guests see the premiere of a new cartoon short with Mickey and Minnie preparing for a picnic. As they head out, they drive alongside a train and find out that the engineer is Goofy. Then, one magical moment lets Guests step into the movie and on Goofy’s train for a wacky, wild ride.”

This Brand New show is being announced to be making its debut in Early 2019 (Sorry, that’s as accurate as I can be at this time).

Located near Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, you will come face-to-face with Lightning McQueen in this first-of-its-kind new show. We are the next generation of rookie racers and Lightning McQueen is excited to coach us, using all the tricks he’s learned over the years. Of course, things don’t go as planned and he has to think fast to get us back on course. Don’t worry…friends Tow Mater, Cruz Ramirez and the rest of the gang from Radiator Springs will be by his side to help him out.
