Update: The Reopening of Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure have been delayed until further notice. Downtown Disney will still be reopening on July 9, 2020.
It’s time to do our little happy dance again…because Disneyland has their reopening dates!
Disney still has to get state and local government approvals before officially opening the Parks and Resorts. But, this is what we know so far…

Phased Disneyland Reopening
Just like the other Disney Parks, Disneyland is planning a phased reopening. However, compared to other Disney Destinations, Disneyland seems to be opening rather quickly.
Disneyland’s shopping district, Downtown Disney, will be the first to reopen. Just 8 days later, the Theme Parks will reopen their gates for the first time since March. And by day 14, two of the three Disneyland Resorts will also reopen to their Guests.
To some, this may seem a bit rushed. But, if this plan is approved by officials, they have shown enough evidence to suggest that Disney can reopen in a way that is safe for everyone.
One of the ways that Disney can keep an eye on crowd levels is by creating a Reservation system. Everyone, including Passholders, will need to get an advanced reservation if they want to be in one of the Parks on any given day.
Disney has also put a temporary stop on new ticket sales, new Passholder sales, and Passholder renewals. Everyone, including Travel Agents, will not be able to purchase tickets during this time. We also don’t know when these sales will be made available for purchase again.

Downtown Disney
The Downtown Disney District will begin reopening on July 9, 2020.
While there isn’t an official list of changes just yet, we can expect to see changes similar to Disney Springs, in Walt Disney World.
For now, all that is being said is that the Disneyland Resort will reopen with enhanced health and safety measures. This most likely means marked spacers to show where you can stand and emphasizing the health and safety of both the Guests and the Cast Members.
Additional Cast Members will be placed around Downtown Disney, as well as the Theme Parks, to answer questions regarding these new policies.

Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure
On July 17, 1955, Disneyland opened its gates for the very first time. So, it’s fitting that they chose July 17, 2020 as the date they decide to reopen the Park gates once again.
Both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure plan to reopen the same day.
Along with advanced registrations, there will be changes around the Parks.
Restaurants and other locations may be limited in capacity. And experiences that draw large crowds or physical touching will be temporarily unavailable.
This means that there will be no Parades, nighttime spectaculars, and character meet and greets for a little while.
But, as we all know, no Disney trip is complete without those beloved Disney characters. Your favorite Characters will still be seen in the Parks, in some way, shape, or form. We will have to experience them in a different way than we’re used to. But, they will still be there.

Grand Californian and Paradise Pier
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa (including the Disney Vacation Club Villas) and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel plan to reopen on July 23, 2020.
The Disneyland Hotel will not be reopening right now. The only news we have is “The Disneyland Hotel will open at a later date”.
Again, no additional information has been released. But, based on what we’ve already heard about the enhanced cleaning at the Walt Disney World Resorts, I expect Disneyland to use the same methods.
