Could there be anything more American than s’mores on the 4th of July?
Being the only girl in a house full of boys (unless you count the dogs), I’ve gotten used to the fact that my life revolves more around Superheroes than Princesses. And since the Avengers basically take over my house, it just makes sense that they take over my snacks, as well.
This super sweet treat combines the gooey goodness of s’mores with a dash of superhero flair, making it the perfect centerpiece for your 4th of July celebrations.
Grab your shield and gather ’round the campfire as we dive into this easy-to-make, mouthwatering dessert that’ll have everyone exclaiming, “Avengers, assemble!”

I’ve seen recipes for s’mores dip all over the place for years. But, to give it that Captain America feel, we added some color.
Ingredients:
- 1 bag of marshmallows
- Chocolate – we’ve also used Nutella and Andes before (delicious!)
- Graham crackers, for dipping
- Red and Blue Colored Sugar Crystals – or whatever you have on hand
In my case, I had red sugar crystals and blue sprinkles. So, that’s what I used.

These S’mores Are Kid Tested, Captain America Approved

Line your container with chocolate
You will be heating the chocolate and the marshmallows in the oven. So, the first thing I would do is to make sure that whatever container you’re using is oven-safe.
Lightly grease your container and line it with all that chocolatey goodness. The amount you use will be based on how large your container is. I ended up using 3 chocolate bars.

Line Up Your Marshmallows and Top With Sugar Crystals
The regular sized marshmallows work well for traditional s’mores. But, in this case, they seemed way too big for my container. So, I ended up cutting my marshmallows in half.
This ended up working in my favor. Since the inside of the marshmallows are insanely sticky, I was able to place the red sugar crystals on without worrying they’d all fall to the bottom of the dish.

Bake Your S’mores
I pre-heated my oven to 450 Degrees and baked it for 7 minutes.
I admit, I had my doubts with how long they were in the oven. But, it ended up being perfect. They were in just long enough to melt everything, without the marshmallows expanding too much or burning.
However, if you’re concerned about the temperature, I’ve seen other recipes that say that 350 degrees for 10 minutes work, as well.
I placed the blue sprinkles on the s’mores after they baked since I didn’t want them falling to the bottom of the pan. while they still settled in between the marshmallows, my boys still got the vibe I was going for.
How Do They Taste?
If you like s’mores, you’ll love the dip. Or perhaps you’ll love them even more.
After taking his first bite, one of my sons exclaimed that this S’mores Dip was even better than a regular s’more. So, I guess the reviews speak for themselves.
