Walt Disney World is the most magical place on earth. So, why wouldn’t you want to start your vacation as soon as possible.
Thanks to online check-in, you can!
Skip The Front Desk And Check-In To Your Resort Online
60 days prior to the start of your vacation, you can start the online check-in process.
Since this is the day you can also start booking those Fastpasses, this makes that 60 day mark even more important.
Check out the video below to see how the Online Check-in works:
When you’re ready to start your online check-in, make sure you have a few things ready.
- Your Reservation number (linked to My Disney Experience)
- Credit Card – it will not be charged at this time.
- Check Walt Disney World Changes Their Credit Card Authorization Policy to see the the new changes
- 4 digit pin – it will be used to redeem Meal Credits and/or charge goodies to your room via your MagicBand (you choose the pin)
Why choose online check-in?
Aside from being able to go right to your room as soon as you arrive to your Resort, you’re also able to make room requests, as well.
Requests can be anything from wanting to be in a certain area of a resort, like near Disney Transportation, or requesting adjoining rooms to accommodate a large family.
Although I make these specific requests at booking, I still make sure to mention it during online check-in, as well.
Disney does state that while they try their best to grant every request, not every request can be fulfilled, especially during busy seasons.
How will you know what your room number is or when it is ready?
Disney states that once your room is ready, you will receive a text and/or an email notifying you that your room is ready.
Honestly, I have only once successfully gotten the text of my room number.
The other times, I never received received that text. I would keep refreshing my My Disney Experience App to see if the number had been added to my reservation.
While the system isn’t perfect, it does follow through on the promise to skip the trip to the front desk and walk right to your room, using your MagicBand to open the door.
