New Money-Saving Ticket Options Coming In 2019

December 19, 2018

Walt Disney World Ticketing has just gotten a little more complex. Disney has recently changed the way you purchase tickets. If you haven’t heard of this change, you can learn about that here.

Now, Disney has announced that they will be rolling out a Brand New 4-Park Magic Ticket. Guests are always looking for a way to save money on their Disney Vacation. With these new tickets, there’s a great chance to save quite a bit of money.

New Ticket Option

Starting January 18, 2019, families who wish to visit each of Walt Disney World’s 4 Parks, over a 4 day period, will be able to purchase 4-Park Magic Tickets.

These tickets include one day of admission to Magic Kingdom, one day of admission to Epcot, one day of admission to Hollywood Studios, and one day of admission to Animal Kingdom.

You would use these Tickets for a total of four admissions over four separate days. Since they are only valid for one theme park per day, there is no Park Hopping allowed.

Budget Saver!

Much like the brand new ticketing system, these tickets will be season based, with more popular days being more expensive.

  • 4-Park Magic Value Ticket – Valid for admission Jan 18 – March 1, 2019 – must be used within seven days from first use, or by March 1, 2019, whichever comes first.
    • Adult: $85 per day, plus tax ($340 total, plus tax)
    • Child: $80 per day, plus tax ($320 total, plus tax)
  • 4-Park Magic Select Ticket – Valid for admission March 2 – March 14; March 27-April 9; April 27-May 27; and Aug. 19-Sept 30, 2019 – must be used within seven days from first use, or by Sept. 30, 2019, whichever comes first.
    • Adult: $89 per day, plus tax ($356 total, plus tax)
    • Child: $84 per day, plus tax ($336 total, plus tax)
  • 4-Park Magic Summer Ticket – Valid for admission May 28 – Aug. 18, 2019 – must be used within seven days from first use or by Sept 30, 2019, whichever comes first.
    • Adult: $95 per day, plus tax ($380 total, plus tax)
    • Child: $90 per day, plus tax ($360 total, plus tax)

Regular Tickets vs Magic Tickets

Essentially, these tickets aren’t very different than 4-day Base Tickets. They both allow you to enter ONE Park per day.

Except, there’s one big difference.

With the Base Tickets, you are able to choose the Parks you want to go to. If your family would like to visit Magic Kingdom 2 of those 4 days, leaving one of the other Parks out of your plans, you can do that.

With this new Ticket, that’s not an option. Visiting all 4 of Walt Disney World’s Parks must be in your plans.

For many families, that won’t be a deal breaker. The majority of the families I speak to want to visit all 4 Parks during their trip anyway. So, these tickets will be great money savers for those families.

Pricing difference

For the 4-Park Magic Value Ticket – Between Jan 18th and March 1st 2019, a 4-Day Base Ticket costs between $93 and $102 per day (per Guest ages 10+).

The 4-day Magic Value Tickets for the same time period is priced at $85 per day. As long as you want to enjoy all 4 Parks, you can save up to $17 per Guest, per day for essentially the same ticket as the 4-Day Base Ticket.

For a family of 4, that’s a savings of $68 per day, or $272 total for your tickets. That buys a whole lot of Dole Whips!

For the 4-Park Magic Select tickets – Base tickets vary between $95 and $105 per day during this time period. That’s a savings of up to $16 per Guest, per day when you purchase the 4-Park Magic Tickets.

For the 4-Park Magic Summer tickets – Base Tickets vary between $96 and $103 per day during this time period. While the savings is only $8 during this Peak time, that’s still a $128 savings for a family of 4, over a 4 day period.

Purchasing Tickets

Tickets will be available for purchase beginning January 18, 2019.
