IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth Is Coming To An End

September 20, 2018

“IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” debuted in October 1999, and for the past 20 years, it has entertained many Guests who have watched this nighttime spectacular of lights and fireworks.

For the past few years, the focus has been on Hollywood Studios and the additions of Toy Story Land and the upcoming Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Mickey’s Runaway Runway, both opening in 2019.

Once construction in Hollywood Studios comes to an end, the focus will be on EPCOT. The Guardians of the Galaxy show building is already going vertical, with tracks starting to make its way to the area. Other enhancements we will be starting to see includes a “Ratatouille”-inspired attraction in the France Pavilion, a new table-service restaurant adjacent to Mission: SPACE and much more.

When will IllumiNations be ending?

While we don’t have an exact date, what we do have is a pretty good time frame. Disney has said that IllumiNations will be ending at the end of Summer 2019. This means we should be seeing the last performance happen between late August or possibly September.

And while we don’t know what will replace IllumiNations, all we know is that there is something already in the works in the form of an “all new nighttime fireworks spectacular”. And if Happily Ever After is any indication of what Disney is capable of, we expect it to be nothing less than…well, spectacular.

How do you feel about IllumiNations coming to an end?
