Vacation Planner Walt Disney World

Cash Free Test Coming To Animal Kingdom Lodge

January 18, 2018

Planning on visiting Jambo House?

Beginning February 12th, 2018, you will begin noticing that Animal Kingdom Lodge – Jambo House are participating in a pilot program where all transactions (except gratuities) will be CASH FREE.

During this test period, all purchases and services will only accept MagicBands, credit and debit cards, Disney Gift Cards, Disney Rewards Redemption cards, and contactless payments like Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Google Pay.

Disney did not state how long this pilot program will take place or if it will be spreading to other resorts, but for now, at least, cash will not be accepted at Jambo House. From what I have read, Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge and Disney Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village will not be participating in this pilot program.

This will not only affect those staying in Jambo House, but visitors to the Resort, as well. There are Gift Shops and many Dining Options in Jambo House, so if you pay cash for your souvenirs or Meals, please make a plan to pay using one of the other options listed above.

What do you think of Disney’s decision to go Cashless? Will it effect your experience?
