Hall of Presidents Reopens in the Magic Kingdom

December 19, 2017

After a lengthy refurbishment, the Hall of Presidents in Walt Disney World finally opens back up today in the Magic Kingdom.

To keep up with modern advancements in animatronics, Disney took this time to upgrade their technology to make the presidents’ movements seem more smooth and lifelike. After seeing what they’ve done on Na’vi River, I can see why they would want to make these improvements in the Hall of Presidents. It’s amazing to see how far they’ve come.

Walt Disney, himself, came up with the idea, as a way to honor the presidents and the United States. He started with a single animated figure of Abraham Lincoln, which he presented to the 1964 – 1965 New York World Fair. Unfortunately, he would never see his full vision come to life. In 1971, just shy of 5 years after the death of Walt Disney, advancements made it possible for every chief executive to have their part and be represented in the Hall of Presidents. I like to think that he’d be proud of what has been done because of his vision.

This 25 minute show is a great place to take a break from the Florida sun and get off your feet, even for a little while. It’s also educational, which, if proved, may be submitted to your child’s school as a way of not getting an “illegal” absence on their record. Of course, this is entirely up to each school to make the choice as to what is considered an illegal absence and what isn’t. Please check with your school on its absence policy.

You may have noticed, but I intentionally left out one addition. I feel like I shouldn’t have to say this, but please be courteous of the views of others. I wrote this as an admirer of the animatronics and the visions of Walt Disney and not to get inspire a Political Debate.

And remember the words of Thumper… “If you can’t say anything nice…don’t say nothing at all.”
