Update: Unfortunately, mPlus Points has come to an end. For information on how to redeem your points before they expire, check out Another One Bites The Dust.
If you haven’t figured it out by now, I have A LOT of apps on my phone. Please tell me I’m not alone in this! The majority of my apps are on my phone for a very specific purpose…to either help me save money or MAKE money. Well, this little beauty helps me MAKE money by doing something that you are probably already doing on your phone…playing games.
I discovered mPoints/Rewards a little over one year ago. At that time, I only had mPlus Places on my phone. That was fine and dandy, but it wasn’t until I had downloaded a game that, unknown to me, was linked to mPoints, that I realized the earning potential. That’s when I looked into what else was linked to mPoints. OMG! There are a lot of apps!
Of all the apps that mPoints has, the app that I use the most is still mPlus Places. Whenever I am running errands, I always open up MPlus Places in the car before I get out. I “check-in” to all the places that are around me, earning 5 points per check-in now and “gifts” that I can open 24 hours from the time of check in. In 24 hours, your “gifts” will show up, giving you another 24 hours to open them up before they expire. I have gotten between 5 to 100 points, entries into sweepstakes, and a free Amazon egift card for opening up these boxes. You can check-in up to 25 places per day.
Please do not attempt to check-in while you are driving. MPlus Points will not allow you to check in to any place when it detects you are traveling faster than the normal human being can walk, even when you are the passenger in a car. Thank you!
Do you have store cards to Big Y, Kmart, Rite Aid, BJ’s, or Wegmans? If you link your loyalty card, just scan your card at check out and you can earn even more points.
I added this because it is on the app. However, I can not attest to how well this works. I actually have store loyalty cards to Kmart, Rite Aid, BJ’s AND my personal favorite, Wegmans. However, when I went to enter my cards into the system, the only option they’d let me enter was Rite Aid. The only conclusion I can come up with is that this is a GPS based app, and since I no longer live in NY, the only store somewhat near me is Rite Aid, thus only giving me that option. The next time I go home, I will have to look and see if the other stores show up. And since Rite Aid isn’t in the areas that I normally shop, I haven’t had the chance to try this out. 🙁
Another app that I have on my phone, is Cricket Rewards. I do not have a Cricket phone, but I have the app for one reason…Half Off Gift Cards! Once a month, they will have one gift card for half off..which just so happens to me TODAY! (Today’s 1/2 off Card is for Game Stop!) If it is a gift card that I know I will use, I will “purchase” it for half off. And since I paid no money out of pocket, it is FREE MONEY!
Remember to open the app every day for mini achievements. Sometimes, they even let me play one of their mini games, using these cute little guys. This is great way to add some mPoints.
And if you have a phone through Cricket, you can earn some MAJOR points with this app!
If surveys are your thing, then you will love MThoughts. You can get some great points, if you qualify and finish the surveys. If I have some spare time while waiting for my kids to get out of school, I will check out the app and see if I qualify for anything, but otherwise, it isn’t an app I check out on a daily basis.
And now the reason you probably clicked on this link to begin with…the games. Aside from the mini games I play on Cricket Rewards, I like to play the Price is Right Bingo and Family Feud 2. However, if you don’t like either of those, there are a lot more games to choose from. I just stick with these because I don’t have a whole lot of free time to sit and play games. But, when I do, it feels good to unwind for a minute and think of all the points I am earning towards some FREE gift cards.
