Holiday Celebrations in Hollywood Studios

October 21, 2018

Decorations are already starting to be put up along Sunset Boulevard, which can only mean on thing…the festivities will begin shortly. From November 8, 2018 through January 6, 2019, the Holiday Spirit will be in full swing.

I realize that it’s sort of silly to be talking about Christmas before Halloween has even come yet. But, remember, Halloween decorations and parties have been in full swing in the Magic Kingdom since August.

Many want to experience the Holidays at Disney, but don’t like crowds that come with it. So, by extending the Holidays, Guests have the opportunity to experience the decorations and the celebrations during otherwise “slower” times at Disney.

Sunset Seasons Greetings
Sunset Boulevard becomes a winter wonderland this time of year. Watch the Hollywood Tower Hotel (AKA Tower of Terror) transform, at night, with projections and new laser effects of holiday stories and beloved Disney characters.
Of course, a winter wonderland wouldn’t be complete without some “snow.” Bet you didn’t expect to see that in Orlando, did you?

Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!
Running from November 6 to January 6, 2019, this 14-minute show of fireworks, festive music, and state-of-the art projections will amaze you.
Join Wayne and Lanny, from ABC’s Prep & Landing, as they search for Santa Clause, who is missing and needs to be returned to the North Pole in time for Christmas.
Watch buildings and rooftops come alive, immersing you in scenes from Mickey’s Christmas Carol, Beauty and the Beast, Pluto’s Christmas Tree, Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas and more.
Enhanced Holiday Decor Around Echo Lake
Echo Lake gets a makeover with extra-large ornaments, colorful garlands, and a giant Christmas tree centered on the water. Disney has stated that there will be even more Holiday Decorations than ever before. Even Gertie, the giant Dinosaur, will be dressed for the occasion.
Santa Greetings
Visit Santa Claus from November 9 to December 24, 2018 or meet Santa Goofy from December 25 to December 31, 2018.
Holiday Meals and Desserts

Can we stop for a moment and say how adorable Woody, Jessie, and Buzz look in their Christmas outfits?

Starting on November 8, 2018, Woody is trading in his cowboy vest for a Holiday one, decorated with a Christmas Tree and presents. He will also have a candy cane in his holster. Jessie is also trading in her cowgirl vest for a red vest with a peppermint. And Buzz Lightyear looks adorable with his Santa Hat.

If you’d like pictures with these guys during the Holiday Season, make sure to check My Disney Experience to find out when and where they are having their Meet-and-Greets.

But, not only are Woody, Jessie, and Buzz dressing up for the Holidays, Toy Story Land is being decorated in all new Seasonal decor, as well.

Oversized cranberry-and-popcorn garland will adorn the area. I can not wait to see this all done up. I bet it’s going to be adorable.

A giant Holiday Card with Toy Story pals, and oversized Hamm sugar cookie, and Green Alien ornaments are perfect for taking those one-of-a-kind Holiday photos of loved ones…or selfies of yourself.

While you’re there, be sure to listen for new audio and music throughout the area. You will be able to hear sleigh bells on Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers 2 new Holiday tracks, created just for the ride. To add to the holiday spirit, Alien Swirling Saucers are getting some festive themed lighting, as well.

It’s going to be an amazing Holiday Season with some magical festivities! All of this buildup has me thinking, “Hmm…Can I squeeze in a short Birthday Trip before the Christmas fun is over?”

Will you be attending the festivities in Hollywood Studios this year?
