Disney Wants To Pay Guests To Stay At Their Resort. How Can You Be One Of These Guests?

March 17, 2017

As you may have heard, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort will be undergoing some major renovations between May 1st, 2017 and June 30th, 2018! It may sound less than magical to book a vacation where you know that there will be construction going on, but this is also an opportunity for some guests to get a great deal on a vacation.

But how?

To make up for the fact that there will be renovations going on, Disney will be issuing a $75 Disney Gift Card per night/per room to guests upon check-in during this time. You will be able to use these gift cards at Food and Beverage and Merchandise locations. If you plan on staying for 1 week (7 Day / 6 night), you will receive a $450 Gift Card when you check in. Just think of all the souvenirs you can get!

How do I get one of these Gift Cards?

Guests will need to book a Hotel Reservation at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort by March 19th, 2017. Any reservations booked after this date will not be eligible to receive the Disney Gift Card, even if they stay in the Caribbean Beach Resort during the renovation time.

What inconveniences will this cause?

Crews work during the day when guests are awake and playing in the parks. So, if you have young children or you like to return to your room during the day for a nap or some rest, then you will most likely hear noise associated with these renovations. If you are like me and only seem to return to your hotel room to sleep at night, the resort should be relatively quiet and cause less disturbances for these guests, as the construction seem to take place between 9am and dusk.

The Old Port Royale Food Court, Shutters at Old Port Royale, Banana Cabana Pool Bar, and Calypso Trading Post will all be closed during this time, so if you planned on visiting any of these locations, you will want to adjust your plans accordingly.

Of course, Disney will not let anyone go hungry, so an all-you-can-eat buffet will be available for breakfast and dinner, a selection of grab-and-go meals will be sold in the Aruba, Jamaica, and Martinique regions of the resort, additional a la carte will be available at mobile food vending locations, and in-room dining will also be available.

As far as entertainment goes, the Fuentes del Morro Pool and the leisure pools will remain open. Recreation activities and entertainment will also remain open.

The Pirate Rooms are extremely cool, in my opinion. Since these were just renovated not that long ago, it seems unlikely that they will be touching these rooms.
